The Giant Houdini
Monday, February 4th, 2008I LOVE the unpredictability of sports. It provides unbeatable edge-of-your-seat drama.
If one play sums up the NY Giants determination and will to win from the Super Bowl it was the “Giant” Houdini act by…. (gulp) Eli Manning?!
Yes, somehow, someway the elusive S.O.B. escaped the clutches of 4 Patriots linemen and completed the biggest pass of his dubious young career.
Potentially even more, but definitely just as impressive was the catch made by David Tyree on the other end of the play. Every time I watch the clip…WOWED.
No better play exemplifies gritty determination, drive and resiliency as this. Click for the video. 
Kudos- hats off- congrats again to the New York Giants.
They never gave up and showed they possess the heart of a champion.
SB XLII-Second Half
Sunday, February 3rd, 2008They did it. This is why the games are played.
The undefeated New England Patriots have been defeated 17-14. It will go down as one of the greatest games in Super Bowl history ONLY because of the outcome.
The last 10 minutes of the game WAS the game!
Eli Manning was criticized for being nonchalant in the past but he was cool as ice when it counted most.
Momentum can never be understated enough I guess.
How devastating for New England. Congratulations to the Giants.
I owe my co-workers $10.

Occasionally Fox cameras will peer over to Peyton Manning standing in a box by himself watching little bro play. As much as I don’t like the Mannings I do admire the brotherly support and encouragement.

SB XLII-First Half

Well HALFTIME is upon us and its a 7-3 barnburner in Super Bowl 42. The big story the first half. My TV. It has picked a very poor time to go on the fritz. It squeezes the picture when it wants to and I cant really make out anything. Lovely.
Hopefully the second half of the game will be as exciting and bring as much anticipation as my temperamental analog TV. I KNEW I should have gone with the HD! I need another Beer
Manning incomplete. 5 seconds to go
Holy Crap!! Brady just fumbled/was stripped and the Giants recovers at the 50. 10 seconds in half.
RAndy Moss. Finally. First down completion down the field. Gets outta bounds stops clock
2nd and 12 coming up
59 seconds left in the half. NE just called for holding.
Wow. Donte Stallworth. Havent heard his name much but he just picked up a first down for NE. Under 2 minutes left. Action is fast
And Beer #2 is caput.
